I contracted my blood clots on a 13-hour flight from NYC to Delhi when I sat in the middle seat and didn’t get up and move around because I passed out asleep for about 5 hours. Sitting for long periods of time can cause blood flow below the knees to decrease by 50%, significantly increasing the chance of blood clots.
